PDCA Rep Trials Announcement – NSW Youth Championship Teams only

PDCA will again be entering teams in the 2020/21 NSW Youth Championships (NSWYC) and the 2020/ Presidents Cup competitions. We are now asking players to register their interest in trialling for the PDCA NSW Youth Championship. You must register your interest via the link on the PDCA website.

Note, trials for the U11, U14, U15, U16 PDCA Presidents Cup teams will be held separately at a date later in the season.

PDCA will be conducting open trials to assist in selections of the teams to represent the PDCA this upcoming season. The details of the trials are outlined below.

At this point in time Coaches have been appointed for each age group. Coaches for Division 2 teams and Managers for each of the selected teams will be finalised once selections are complete.

Selections will be conducted by the appointed coach for each age division and he/she will be assisted by independent selectors where possible.

To be eligible to play for PDCA in this seasons NSWYC, players must have played last season in the PDCA competition and also be registered and play in the PDCA competition in season 2020/21.

It is important to understand the criteria that will be taken into consideration when selecting each team. Selectors will consider key criteria that includes, but is not limited to:
PDCA junior competition performance in previous years
PDCA representative team performance in 2019/20 in both NSWYC and IDCA Presidents Cup
Representative coach feedback from season 2019/20
Ensuring optimal team balance with batting, bowling and wicket keeping
Performance at the trial which will include, batting, bowling, fielding which will include athleticism in the field, ground fielding & catching

Trials to be held at Old Kings Oval nets (subject to confirmation) Sunday 19th from 12.00pm – 2.00pm.

Boys Under 12 (Div 1 & 2) – Players eligible for this age must be 11 years of age as at 31/8/2020 (i.e. born prior to 1/9/2009) and ideally have played
either played Stage 2 (u12) cricket or
2019/20 NYC or Presidents Cup representative cricket or
have performed at a high level in the 2019/20 PDCA U11 Stage 1 competition

Trials to be held at Monty Bennett nets Sunday 5th & Sunday 12th July from 9.00am – 12.00pm. Note: Following the first trial, the PDCA selectors will shortlist players before inviting players to the second trial.

Boys Under 13 (Div 1 & 2) – Players 12 years of age as at 31/8/2020

Boys Under 14 – Players 13 years of age as at 31/8/2020

Trials to be held at McCredie nets (subject to confirmation) Sunday 19th July. I suggest 9.00am – 12.00pm.

Boys Under 15 – Players 14 years of age as at 31/8/2020

Trials to be held at McCredie nets (subject to confirmation) Sunday 19th July from 1pm – 3.30pm.

Boys Under 16 – Players 15 years of age as at 31/8/2020

Please be aware that the trials will take place ensuring compliance to the health guidelines and requirements that are in place at the time. These guidelines will be directed by the relevant State and Local governments and Cricket NSW. This may include restrictions on the number of players that are able to trial at any given time. In the event this scenario occurs in an age group, PDCA may be required to short list registrations prior to the trials.
