From PDCA

27 May 2020 by Belinda Patton

To all PDCA Clubs and their members:

We trust you are keeping well during this period of uncertainty. Hopefully we have seen the worst of it and are moving forward with hopes of a return to some form of normal.

As you are well aware, our season was cut short with just 1 week to go. As we are unable to hold our Annual Presentation for a while, if at all, I would like to share the following.

Competitions were decided as per PDCA rules, with the higher placed team after the competition rounds being declared winners. Congratulations to those teams.

Junior Stage Two and Three individual awards have been decided, based on stats provided in My Cricket and in line with PDCA Rules.

A few players have broken PDCA Records and we congratulate them.

As part of this Circular, we have attached a full list of the junior trophy winners – both individuals and teams. This also includes a list of the PDCA Rep teams and trophy winners and a list of teams of our Junior Competition winning teams. All these annual award trophies and medallions will be distributed when practical.

We would also like to congratulate our major award winners:
Senior Cricketer of the Year: Grant McCartin (Hills Barbarians CC)
Junior Cricketer of the Year: Santhosh Samuel (Seven Hills Toongabbie RSL CC)
Club Champions: Baulkham Hills CC.

Congratulations to all those listed.

On a sad note, we have recently lost two umpires. Terry Heath, PDCUA Treasurer, passed away suddenly. Terry was an active umpire, officiating in A grade this season. Terry was a long standing member of PDCUA and was well respected by all who played under him and who had the pleasure of meeting him. And another long standing umpire, John Abrahams also passed away. John’s health had been not been good in recent years. John umpired both seniors and juniors over many years and was well respected by all who met him. A true gentleman, John went about his umpire duties quietly, efficiently and with great respect for all players and team officials. Both gentlemen umpired Reps as well. We pass on our condolences the families of both men.

So, moving forward, we hope to be able to hold our Presentation and AGM some time in the next few months, depending of the Government Regulations. And we look forward to the 2020/2021 season.

In the meantime, stay safe,

Regards

Peter McLoughlin
